Hey friends,

By now, many of you have heard the heart-breaking story of 19-year-old Jay Slater from Lancashire. Jay went missing while on holiday in Tenerife. After attending the NRG Festival, he ventured into the Masca mountains with two men he had just met. Tragically, Jay was found four weeks later at the bottom of a ravine.

The circumstances of Jay's disappearance have sparked numerous conspiracy theories, some of which seem quite plausible. However, I've always felt a deep connection to this case and had a strong intuition that he would be found in those mountains.

What truly happened that night remains a mystery. Today, I'm not here to present facts but to share my own intuitive tarot reading in hopes of shedding light on Jay's journey. Remember, this is all alleged and guided by intuition.

Character Reading on Jay Slater

Let's delve into Jay's character to gain more insight. For this, I pulled the 10 of Wands, the Star, and the Two of Pentacles.

The 10 of Wands suggests that Jay was very goal-oriented but struggled with anxiety, which often held him back. He juggled many responsibilities, as indicated by the Two of Pentacles—perhaps balancing work, friendships, and personal challenges.

Despite his anxieties, the Star card shows that Jay was a free spirit, striving to overcome his past troubles. He was the light and soul of the party, and lit up a room with his smile.

Jay was known to have been involved in a gang during his younger years, likely due to peer pressure. He didn't want to be part of it but felt he had to fit in. Despite these challenges, he was trying to better himself and move beyond his troubled past.

Jay was a strong-willed individual, but his anxiety made decision-making difficult. His mother reportedly had to persuade him to go on holiday, reflecting his struggle with making choices.

He often needed encouragement to take action, and although he was pressured into doing things he didn’t always want to, he had clear goals in mind.

The Emperor Card

The Emperor card highlights Jay’s loyalty to friends and family. He was protective and had some anger issues, possibly stemming from his gang involvement and the pressures that came with it. This loyalty sometimes led him to snap easily and say things without thinking, often needing guidance to navigate his emotions and decisions.

The Knight of Swords

Jay was always ready for action, as depicted by the Knight of Swords. This readiness could relate to his need to defend himself and his friends, driven by anxiety and insecurity.

The Four of Pentacles

Jay tended to hold onto his emotions, often acting based on his thoughts rather than his heart's desires. He struggled to express his feelings, hiding his anxiety and trying to please others.

The Eight of Swords

This indicates feelings of being trapped or restricted, likely by his own anxieties and self-imposed limitations. This card suggests that he often felt powerless to change his circumstances, which added to his overall stress and sense of entrapment.

Let's now move on and see what the energy was like at the NRG festival, and if we can get a better understanding of why Jay decided to leave.

I pulled the Eight of Cups, the Moon, and the Tower.

These cards suggest that although Jay was having a good time, he felt quite alone, despite being surrounded by friends. The videos show him smiling and joking, but I believe he was putting on a façade.

At the party, he likely felt isolated, which made him vulnerable when two individuals approached him, offering an afterparty. I suspect his friends might have unwittingly set him up with these two people, possibly as part of a deal.

In his vulnerable state, Jay couldn't fully grasp the situation, seeing it as innocent fun. The Tower card signifies sudden upheaval and destruction, hinting at the catastrophic turn of events that night.

Arriving at the B&B

Upon arriving at the B&B, Jay felt out of place. The Five of Pentacles suggests he felt like an outsider. The two men seemed to get along well, and as Jay sobered up, he likely felt uncomfortable or threatened by their behaviour. This discomfort possibly led to his abrupt departure.

There were rumours about him stealing a watch, but I believe he simply felt uneasy and wanted to leave. The woman at the B&B saw him at the bus stop, indicating his urgency to get away. He even took a Snapchat outside the B&B, perhaps an innocent or accidental action.

Journey Away from the B&B

During his journey, Jay was likely disoriented and anxious. He seemed hurried and unsettled, possibly due to feeling threatened by the people he was with. His phone call with a friend indicated he was trying to maintain a façade, mentioning he had slipped, suggesting he was not on the main road but a more dangerous path.

Two of Pentacles and Eight of Wands

The Two of Pentacles indicates that Jay faced a crucial decision while walking. His anxiety and panic led to a hurried choice, trying to escape his unsettling environment. The Eight of Wands reflects his frantic thoughts and actions, in a hurry to get away.

Emotional and Physical State

Jay’s phone dying added to his distress. He relied on others for guidance, and without support, he panicked. He was disoriented, thirsty, sleep-deprived, and possibly still under the influence of substances.

High Priestess: Trusting Intuition

The High Priestess card shows that Jay trusted his intuition, albeit skewed by drugs and paranoia. Desperate to escape, he believed his best option was to leave the road and find a quicker path through the mountains, a fatal misjudgement.

Tea Fortune Cards: Additional Insights

  • Mountain: Major challenges he faced. Despite knowing the mountains were treacherous, he was determined to escape perceived threats.
  • Two-faced Friend: Possible negative influences from his companions, encouraging risky behaviour.
  • Weeping Willow: Reflects the sorrow of his family and the tragic impact of his loss. His friends could have done more to help him that night.
  • Kangaroo: Indicates unsettled times and the need to plan ahead, which Jay failed to do in his haste.

Final Thoughts: The Eagle and Unicorn

  • Eagle: Symbolizes triumph over troubles, suggesting initial relief after leaving the B&B.
  • Unicorn: Emphasizes using intuition for beneficial changes, hinting at his decision to leave the road, though tragically misguided.

Conclusion: A Series of Unfortunate Events

The tarot reading suggests that Jay’s death was a tragic accident, compounded by poor judgment and a compromised state of mind. While conspiracy theories abound, the cards indicate that his demise resulted from a series of unfortunate decisions made under duress and paranoia.

Look, I get it—when you're young, you just want to have fun and not have to think. You just want to party and enjoy yourself. But there's a code, and that is the friend code. You arrive together, you leave together. If one of you feels ill, you look after each other. If one of you decides to head off with random people, you make sure they don't. You look out for one another.

This tragic story serves as a reminder of the importance of looking out for your friends, especially in vulnerable situations. My thoughts and condolences go out to Jay's family and friends during this difficult time.

Let us hope that further investigations will provide more clarity and closure.
